(1) Provided that the officer can be spared

from his duties short periods on full pay up to a total of fifteen days in respect of and during each numerical year.

(2) Sick leave on full pay, twenty-eight days

in any numerical year.

(3) On the expiration of the three years' agree-

ment and on leaving the service of the Colony three months full pay leave and half pay on the voyage home, provided that the officer's services have been satisfactory.

If the appointment is made permanent long leave on full pay will be granted in accordance with General Orders. This enables an officer to be absent from the Colony for about nine months every four years.
